Chrome Run Guide Service is owned and operated by NYS Licensed Guides Erik Barton and Samantha Sanchez. Erik has been fishing the Salmon River for over 15 years, spending most of that time swinging flies for steelhead. With a family home in the area, Sam has grown up fishing the Salmon River and surrounding Lake Ontario tributaries for over 15 years. Together, we are proud to offer our guide service to show you how to catch salmon and steelhead on the fly rod. While our primary focus is on the Salmon River, we also fish the surrounding Lake Ontario tributaries when conditions allow. Depending on time of year, all offer good opportunities for salmon, steelhead, and brown trout.

Erik Barton
Erik has been fishing the Salmon River for nearly 15 years, spending the majority of that time swinging flies for steelhead. His love of steelhead on the spey rod has expanded to fishing for Atlantic Salmon in Scandinavia and utilising two-handed rods for striped bass along the East Coast. While spey might be his personal preference, he enjoys all types of fly fishing for any species that swims. He is also a proud member of the R.L. Winston Fly Rods pro-staff.
Sam Sanchez
With a family home in the area, Sam has grown up fishing the Salmon River and its surrounding tributaries for over 15 years. As with many anglers, she began nymphing before quickly finding a passion for catching steelhead on a swung fly. Like Erik, this passion has grown into fishing for Atlantic salmon and many other species with a spey rod, whether it be swinging wets for trout or striped bass in a rip.
