We offer fly fishing wade trips on the Salmon River and surrounding tributaries for salmon, steelhead, brown trout, and smallmouth bass.
We offer both single hand and spey casting instruction by appointment. Whether you’re a novice fly or spey caster, or an experienced caster in a bit of a slump, casting instruction is one of the best ways to improve your experience on the water.
Aside from standard guide trips, we also offer hosted group trips that include lodging and meals. This is a great way to experience the Salmon River and make some new fishing buddies along the way!

Chrome Run Guide Service is owned and operated by NYS Licensed Guides Erik Barton and Samantha Sanchez. With over 25 years of experience combined, we have both spent a majority of our childhood and early adult years exploring the Salmon River and its neighboring tributaries. Throughout that time on the water, we have developed a deep understanding of the river and how to fish it effectively. Together, we are excited to provide a guide service where we can share our knowledge with anglers alike.

While the Salmon River may be known for “combat fishing”, especially during peak salmon season, we prioritize fishing ethics and etiquette to show you what truly makes the system a world-class fishery. While our primary focus is on the Salmon River, we also fish the surrounding Lake Ontario tributaries when conditions allow. Depending on the season, these waters offer excellent opportunities for salmon, steelhead, brown trout, and even smallmouth bass.
